At Desheng School (International), our Parent Support Group (PSG) serves as a vital bridge between home and school, fostering a collaborative partnership in nurturing our students' growth. Comprising dedicated and enthusiastic parents who actively support school initiatives, the PSG plays a multifaceted role in our educational community. Beyond their active participation in organising and leading school events, PSG members contribute valuable insights and suggestions to our development strategies, effectively building a robust communication channel between families and the school. The group also facilitates regular parent education sessions, inviting industry experts and experienced parents to share insights on topics ranging from university applications and career guidance to parenting relationships. Through this comprehensive approach, our Parent Support Group ensures that parents are not just observers but active partners in their children's educational journey, creating a supportive network that benefits the entire school community.
To further strengthen our home-school collaboration, DSI has established multiple touchpoints for ongoing engagement. Our Weekly Bulletin features a dedicated "Parent Engagement" section, sharing the latest resources on cooperative education. We conduct weekly family phone calls to gauge communication effectiveness and gather genuine feedback from parents. Additionally, our monthly Parents Drop-in sessions offer workshops focused on parent-child relationships and university applications, equipping parents to better support their children’s development.
Through these structured initiatives and the active involvement of the PSG, we ensure that parents are not just observers but essential partners in their children's educational journey, creating a supportive network that benefits the entire school community.
