Desheng School (International) hosts an annual DSI Summer School drawing on the school's established links with leading universities worldwide. Past programmes have welcomed tenure-holding professors from the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford to deliver masterclasses in artificial intelligence, business innovation and engineering, alongside in-house tracks focused on bridging to secondary-level study and student-led elective workshops.
The DSI Summer School typically offers three strands:
-
Academic Bridge – inquiry-based English and Mathematics for incoming Year 7 students.
-
Student-Led Sabbatical – short, interest-based courses designed and delivered by trained senior students, with daily sport sessions.
-
Masterclass – a selective, university-style seminar led by a professor from a leading global institution, focusing on a contemporary scientific or social theme.
All tracks are aligned with the school's IB-inspired, learner-centred pedagogy and are offered tuition-free, including meals. The programme aims to support transition, nurture student agency, and provide academically able students with early exposure to higher-level inquiry in an immersive international school setting.
The 2026 DSI Summer School will run from 13 to 18 July 2026.
