Last night, the DSI Arts Gala Night 2026 concluded in a moment of warmth and accomplishment as the curtains fell on its final performance: an original student adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic, reimagined as ’Round in Eighty.
Months of creative collaboration and dedication unfolded on stage as students, supported by a committed team of teachers and staff, transformed the familiar story of global travel into a deeply personal reflection of the DSI community itself. The production moved beyond the script, weaving in the distinct threads of the school’s multicultural identity, shared humor, and the universal feelings of connection and belonging that define the DSI experience.
More than a theatrical performance, the evening was a testament to collective effort. Guided by dedicated teachers and driven by a diligent Core Production Team, the student cast and crew demonstrated extraordinary commitment, honing their craft to ensure every scene resonated with authenticity and heart. The result was a production that invited the audience not just to watch a play, but to recognize their own stories within it.
“The magic of the evening was in its shared spirit,” reflected one of the production leads. “It wasn’t about putting on a show; it was about a community coming together to create something meaningful. The laughter, the support, the hard work—that’s what made it special.”
The success of the Arts Gala adds a vibrant chapter to DSI’s ongoing 15th-anniversary celebrations. It powerfully illustrated how stories created together—on stage and off—have the strength to connect, inspire, and create lasting impact. ’Round in Eightyposed a resonant question for our international community: What can we achieve when we journey together? The performance offered a heartfelt, unforgettable answer.
To relive the highlights, exclusive photos and videos from the gala will be shared on the DSI WeChat Official Account and the Media Cube WeChat Video Channel. We invite our whole community to revisit these special moments.
DSI extends its deepest gratitude to every student, teacher, staff member, and family who contributed to and supported the Arts Gala Night 2026. Your presence and passion made the evening a true celebration of our united community.
